Plaza Mandiri — now Wisma Danantara — is Bank Mandiri's headquarters tower in Jakarta's SCBD district. The brief for its facade lighting was to read as dignified and stable at night rather than simply bright, using visual hierarchy, proportion, and controlled luminance instead of maximum output, while keeping the facade usable as a communication surface for branding and event lighting without altering the building's architecture. SCBD's nighttime environment made that harder: a dense mix of office towers, digital media facades, and street lighting where buildings can end up competing for attention through brightness, at the cost of glare, lost visual hierarchy, and skyglow. ALTA Integra's process started with measuring that environment — baseline lux readings of the surrounding context, then false-colour luminance mapping to check the facade's own brightness distribution, and 3D renderings to validate the lighting concept before installation. The result caps upward light spill and glare and keeps luminance controlled rather than maximized, giving the tower a recognizable presence in SCBD without adding to the district's light pollution — while still supporting both static and dynamic lighting scenes for corporate messaging and special events.
