RS Harapan Kita — the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita in West Jakarta — commissioned a lighting design for its pediatric cardiology ward, delivered in 2023 with architect Global Rancang Selaras. The brief moved away from a conventional clinical lighting scheme toward a boutique-hotel-inspired concept, treating the ward as a space where recovery, not just treatment, shapes the environment for young cardiac patients and their families. ALTA Integra led the lighting design for the ward, working alongside Global Rancang Selaras to translate that hospitality-grade lighting language into a healthcare setting without compromising the clinical functions a cardiology ward requires. The scope was coordinated to support the project's WELL Certification target, aligning lighting quality — a recognised factor in patient wellbeing — with the certification's health-centered performance criteria. The result is a paediatric ward where lighting is designed around recovery rather than institutional routine — softer, warmer, and more considered than the fluorescent-lit norm typical of hospital wards, inside a facility that treats some of the country's most vulnerable young cardiac patients.
