The Floating Mosque at Ancol, designed by architect Andra Matin for owner PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, was completed in 2019 as a public house of worship sitting directly at the water's edge in Ancol, Jakarta. ALTA Integra's scope covered acoustic engineering, audiovisual, and lighting design for the prayer hall, with the project's wellness ambitions aligned to a WELL Certification target — an unusual bar for a religious building, and one that pushed the environmental design toward measurable comfort rather than decoration alone. ALTA Integra's lighting design team built the space's atmosphere around a single concept: An-Nur, the Guidance Light — soft, diffused light through the prayer hall, with focused accents on the mihrab and key facade lines rather than uniform illumination. The acoustic and audiovisual scope was built around the same idea: an audio system tuned to the frequencies of recitation and the call to prayer, so that chanting stays intelligible without needing the volume that would break the room's calm, and reverberation in the hall is controlled to match the pace and quality of Quranic recitation rather than speech in general. The intent, across all three disciplines, is a calm, contemplative atmosphere on water, one meant to bring worshippers closer to Allah rather than draw attention to the building's technical systems. Lighting, sound, and acoustics were treated as a single sensory scope rather than separate trades, keeping the mosque's public presence — as one of Ancol's public buildings — quiet and functional rather than spectacle-driven.
