Pantai Indah Kapuk Hospital — a mother-and-child hospital (RS Ibu dan Anak PIK) — needed to stay in operation through nearby construction work, a parking-facility demolition, without the noise disrupting patient care. ALTA Integra designed the noise barriers to make that possible. The team started by identifying and measuring each construction activity's noise output — concrete cutting at 105.7 dBA at source, jack hammering, pile driving, and general works averaging around 85 dBA — then built noise models mapping how that noise would propagate to the hospital façade from different work positions and distances, predicting façade levels in roughly the 60–70 dBA range depending on proximity. Several noise-barrier concepts were then tested to find the best acoustic performance at the lowest cost: permanent and portable barriers for the loudest, closest work such as jack hammering and concrete cutting, built from materials selected for lower environmental impact, with the facades exposed to higher noise levels oriented toward non-sensitive spaces such as circulation areas and storage rather than patient rooms. Before installation, ALTA Integra reviewed the winning contractor's noise-barrier mock-up materials against the design. Once the barriers were in place, construction proceeded without disrupting the hospital's healthcare services.
