Signify Innovation Day, Light the Future, brought Jakarta's lighting, architecture and building-performance community together on Thursday 3 September 2026. Signify Indonesia convened the event at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta, Gandaria City, in Ballroom 3 on the third floor, running from 12:30 to 17:00 WIB. Three keynote speakers, a five-member panel and a technology demonstration filled the program.
Shishir Bansal, Head of Specification Sales at Signify Indonesia, opened the afternoon with introductory remarks. Herwin, founder of ALTA Integra, followed as the first keynote speaker. The room brought together architects, lighting designers, interior designers, MEP consultants and other industry professionals, there to work through how lighting supports sustainable building architecture and urban infrastructure in Indonesia. What Signify Innovation Day Was
Signify Innovation Day carried the tagline Light the Future and ran as a single afternoon program. Registration and lunch opened the schedule, followed by opening remarks, three keynote presentations, a panel discussion, a technology demonstration and a close. Signify Indonesia organized and hosted the event.
The venue put the event inside one of Jakarta's regular business-hotel circuits: Ballroom 3 at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta, Gandaria City, South Jakarta. One ballroom held every session, from the first keynote to the closing demonstration, in front of the same audience. Nobody had to choose between concurrent tracks.
The Three Keynotes and What Each One Argued

Fitriawan, Director of Architecture at Alien DC, followed with Shaping the Future of Sustainable Architecture in Indonesia: Trends in Building and Public Space Design. Each speaker argued a different discipline into the same case for sustainable buildings. Herwin's keynote is set out in its own section below. Herwin summarized the throughline afterward: "sustainable building performance is not created by a single discipline. It requires alignment between the owner's goals, design intent, engineering decisions, product specification, installation quality, and operational behavior."
What Herwin Put in Front of the Room
Herwin's session carried the fuller title Enabling Sustainable Building Performance in Indonesia: Lighting Role in LEED Certification, and it ran as the first technical presentation of the day. He set out where lighting decisions get counted inside a green building certification and what a design team has to document to claim them. The talk did not stop at fixture selection.
By his own description, the session explored "how lighting can support the performance conversation in green building practice, especially when design teams look beyond equipment selection and begin to consider lighting as part of an integrated building strategy." The Panel Discussion on Future-Ready Buildings
The panel at Signify Innovation Day took up one question: achieving sustainability goals and business growth through future-ready buildings. Prasetyo Adi, Vice Chairman of Green Building Council Indonesia, moderated. Four panelists answered from four different vantage points on a building's business case.
Christina Ng, a Certified Facility Manager and LEED Green Associate, sat on the panel as Director of Facilities Management at PT Colliers International Indonesia, speaking for the operating side of a building's life. Satrio Prakoso, President of the Indonesian Society of Sustainability Professionals, and Stefanus Yonathan Astayasa, Chief Business Officer at PT MNC Tourism Indonesia Tbk, argued the professional-standards and hospitality-investment angles. Gregorius Wahyu Kurniawan, Head of Sales for Signify Indonesia's Intelligent Business Segment, closed the panel with the manufacturer's own view of where lighting fits a growth case.
A facilities manager, a sustainability-professional body, a hospitality operator and a lighting manufacturer shared one panel brief. The moderator's own affiliation, a green building council, kept the discussion pointed at outcomes a building owner has to defend.
Signify's Lighting Technology Demonstration
The program closed its working sessions with a demonstration of Signify's own lighting technologies, positioned right after the panel and before the formal close. Participants moved from the strategic argument of the keynotes and panel into a look at the hardware behind it. Signify Indonesia ran the demonstration itself.
Placing the demonstration last let the afternoon build in one direction, from argument to evidence. A design team that had just heard four cases for a lighting decision could then see a current Signify product before the closing remarks.
Who Filled Ballroom 3
The audience was made up of architects, lighting designers, interior designers, MEP consultants and other industry professionals. That mix matters more than a headcount. A lighting decision on a real building runs through every one of those disciplines before it reaches a certification reviewer or a facilities manager.
The panel line-up reflected the same spread outside the room: a facilities manager, a sustainability-professional society, a hospitality business and a manufacturer. Signify Innovation Day put the same range of roles in the audience as it put on stage.
ALTA Integra's Lighting Work Behind the Keynote
Herwin's keynote at Signify Innovation Day drew its examples from ALTA Integra's own project work.
