Noise Control Consultation for Speaker Sound Leakage at Nebula Club

NEBULA CLUB

In the mid-2013 period, the owner of the Nebula Club planned to build a Nebula Club located in the Blitz area, Central Park Mall, West Jakarta. The booming subwoofer on the Nebula Club has the risk of leaking speaker sound which will interfere with activities in the Blitz area, Central Park Mall. To avoid the problem of sound leakage into speakers into the Blitz area, the owner of the Nebula Club contacted us to ask us for a noise control consultant on the project. We are quick to respond to the request by visiting the project site and getting creative with the related parties. Nebula Club has taken the right step, namely conducting noise control consultations.

Project Highlight

Perimeter Installation. In general, the installation of the perimeter around the junction of the wall/column and floor is good as recommended.

Making Floor Insulation Frame. In general, the process of making the floor insulation frame is in accordance with the instructions. In some places, there are errors where the iron frame is not tightly attached to the perimeter or between the frames that are too loose. Doing so may result in vibration leakage.

Floor Insulation Casting. The entire floor is fairly well cast and tight. Errors in several places previously have been fixed in this phase.

Making Wall Insulation Frame. The making of the frame for the wall insulation has been done well according to the instructions and the quality of the work is quite neat.

Wall Insulation. Most of the walls are well insulated, neat and full from floor to ceiling. However, there are some places where there are still a few gaps at the meeting between the wall insulation and the ceiling. Doing so can reduce the effectiveness of the insulation.

Noise Control Consultation Method to Overcome Speaker Sound Leaks. The main problem of our hypothesis is the leakage of speaker sound that enters the cinema room through the building’s structure or the acoustic term is structure borne noise. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the vibration propagation path and the amount of leakage caused. The following is a noise control consultation method for dealing with speaker noise leaks in the Nebula Club. 1. Measure the noise level in the sound source area and the Flash area. 2. Hypothesize the vibration propagation path from the sound source to the disturbed location. 3. Conduct a review and survey of civil and interior planning. 4. Designing soundproofing and vibration damping and estimation of sound attenuation. 5. Supervise work. 6. Measurement of sound level after implementation.
