ALTA Integra Published Abstracts of Paper about Room Modes and Sound Insulation Panel in RECAV 2017

Conference – RECAV 2017

Regional Conference on Acoustics and Vibration (RECAV) 2017 is a conference with 2 main activities, i.e. research paper publication and workshop in acoustics and vibration. In this conference, ALTA Integra submitted 2 papers about room modes and sound insulation panel.

This conference is held by Association of Acoustics and Vibration Indonesia (AAVI) and Society of Acoustics Singapore (SAS) and cooperate with Acoustical Society of America (ASA), International Comission on Acoustics (ICA), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). This conference also upported by some institutions from inside and outside Indonesia.

RECAV 2017 will be held on 26th-29th November 2017 in Denpasar, Bali. This conference will be attended by some professionals who already worked in acoustics for years, i.e. Jeong Guon Ih (President Emeritus of Acoustical Society of Korea), Wong Siong Gan (President of Society of Acoustics Singapore), Prof. Kazuya Takeda (Vice-President of Acoustical Society of Japan / ASJ), and some other keynote speakers. The committee also invited Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D as Director General of Learning and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.

Until 18th August 2017, there are 122 submitted abstracts in RECAV 2017 and ALTA Integra already submitted 2 abstracts. The first paper is Study of the Effect of Splaying Wall to Modify Acoustic Modes Distribution in Small Room with Herwin Gunawan as first author and Teguh Aditanoyo as co-author. Meanwhile the second paper titled Transmission Loss Improvement of Sound Insulation Panel with Viscoelastic Material in Periodic Configuration with Herwin Gunawan as first author and Ida Bagus Ardhana Putra and Joko Sarwono as co-author.

Study of the Effect of Splaying Wall to Modify Acoustic Modes Distribution in Small Room is a research based on the problems caused by room modes in a room. These problems could affect the characteristics of sound source. This research conducted using simulation with Finite Element Method (FEM). The second paper, Transmission Loss Improvement of Sound Insulation Panel with Viscoelastic Material in Periodic Configuration discussing about the using of viscoelastic material in sound insulation panel.

Abstracts of the paper can be seen in picture 2 and 3.
